AT Still University And Health Education
The health care industry is one of the fastest growing in America and the first world.  It’s not very hard to see why.  In affluent countries, everyone expects top rate medical care throughout their lives, and this is simply not easy or cheap to provide.  Older people tend to require more health care.  Training for health care positions is rigorous, lengthy, and difficult.  It’s important that all health professionals are competent and well trained, because mistakes are unacceptable.  Since getting education and training is so difficult and expensive, health professionals have to be paid very well as one incentive to put in the long hours and take out the expensive loans that many students face.  To keep health care costs down, programs such as the ones offered by AT Still University are trying to find innovative ways to allow health professionals to be trained at less expense and inconvenience.

To make health care more affordable, many Universities seek out ways to allow more people to commit to health education to fit the growing demand.  It isn’t always obvious how to achieve this goal without compromising the quality of the health care degrees offered.

One way that AT Still University does so is by offering online options.  Students who can complete their studies online can manage a schedule that might otherwise have been impossible.  Traditional degrees can be earned only by attending classes during the weekdays, which makes it difficult or impossible to find a job that can make ends meet.  With online flexibility, AT Still University students can balance family, work, and school commitments.

Sometimes it simply isn’t possible for someone who is otherwise willing and able to be a full time student because of the time commitment.  In these cases, AT Still University health care students can simply scale back their studies until they find a pace that is manageable in their own lives.

Allowing people who don’t have the time and money to be traditional, full time students to work towards their degrees at their own pace and on their own schedule is important to everyone.  We are all health care users to some extent, and the cost of health care and health insurance is partly dependant on the salaries of health care professionals.  If schooling is a commitment of time and money that only a few people can afford, then economics dictates that they will command a relatively high salary.  By introducing more qualified professionals into the field, competition will lower prices.

It’s also an issue of having enough health care professionals at any cost.  Medical doctors and other professionals in the health field are notoriously overworked.  Unfortunately, when there’s a shortage of doctors people can’t simply jump into the field to fill the demand.  It takes too many years of training for potential health care professionals to be responsive to demand.  AT Still University is helping to make the process a little easier.

Online coursework also allows AT Still University to keep tuition costs low.  Of course there are irreplaceable benefits to personal teaching, and that’s why faculty is available to students.  However, in some instances, online schoolwork like that offered by AT Still University is simply more efficient.  Many people have experienced the gigantic, impersonal lecture halls that are the hallmark of introductory classes.  In many cases, that material can actually be presented in a more useful format online, where students can review it at their leisure, at their own time, and at their own pace.  Attending an online medical school has become easier, and just might fit your busy schedule.
